Do You Know How To Juggle?

do
you
know
how to juggle?

Most people don’t. Most people don’t think they can. But they actually can!

Non-juggler…can you toss a ball with one hand and catch it with the other? Then you can juggle. Yes, it seems to be much more complicated than that. But it simply involves putting together a combination of tosses and catches.

To learn to juggle will take some instruction. It will take some practice. But you have what it takes to juggle! [Juggling is not really the point of this blog but if you’d like to learn check out this video!]

So what’s the point? Spiritual leaders must be lifelong learners, continually growing and developing. We should never be stagnant and continue to do things the same way over and over, assuming that either we’re as good as we’re going to be or there are certain things we just can’t do. Rather, we need to surround ourselves with people who will challenge us into new areas of growth.

Consider the following process…asking two or three other trusted leaders to evaluate you as a leader, speaker, lover of people, handler of conflict, vision-caster, possessing the character of Christ, as a disciple-maker (that’s a good list to begin with!). And then, find someone who is stronger than you in any one of those areas and ask them to mentor you.

I’ve spent the past 15 years asking pastors and leaders if they have a mentor or coach. Rarely has the answer been “yes”. I believe pride keeps us from being teachable. But consider the benefits. You grow. The work you’re a part of grows. And as a result, the Kingdom grows!

This Spiritual Transformation (re-do me) is the process that is never to end in a believer and leader's life.
